Cal: Golden Bears 5-2 (3-1) quarterback Kevin Reilly threw for two touchdown passes including a 53 yarder a flea flicker to Nyan Boateng to take UCLA 3-5 (2-3) out of their game last Saturday in a 41-20 win. Reilly went the distance without any relief help and will face the Oregon Ducks 6-2 (4-1) coming up. Does this win mean that Reilly will primarily start and finish games or will coach Jeff Tedford go for rotating quarterbacks in the near future again?

Tedford should stick with one quarterback; because it will just be confusing for everyone involved. Riley did a great job against UCLA on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. If Riley does not live up to the standards that Tedford wants this Saturday against the Oregon Ducks at Memorial Stadium, you may see Nate Longshore in there next Saturday versus Mike Belotti’s stingy defense.

Stanford: After losing to UCLA by three points two weeks ago and coming off a bye the Cardinal will be facing a struggling Washington State team 1-7 (0-5) in Palo Alto on Saturday. This is team that has lost four straight coming in and have been involved in five straight landslide decisions including their lone win at the top of the five game streak of landslides. Everyone pretty much expects the Cougars to get their heads handed to them this Saturday by Stanford.

The Cougars are in the beginning of a rebuilding stage with new head coach Paul Wulff, who is a former Cougars player. If the Cardinal want to get back to the upper echelon of the PAC-10 with USC, Arizona, (a team that the Cardinal beat 24-23 on October 11 at Stanford Stadium), the aforementioned Oregon Ducks, they must win games like this. Granted, the Cougars maybe down, but do not overlook them. Following the Cougars, the Cardinal must travel to Autzen Stadium to face the Oregon Ducks on November 8, return home for the home finale against USC, who is looking for redemption after the Cardinal stunned the college football world last season at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and after the Trojans, the Cardinal travel up to Strawberry Canyon to face the California Golden Bears in the Big Game on November 22.
