Kendry Morales drove in Torii Hunter with the go-ahead run in the seventh inning Thursday, and the Los Angeles Angels made that slim margin hold up as they edged the New York Yankees 7-6 in game five of the American League Championship Series.

The Angels’ win cut the Yankees’ lead in the series to 3-games-to-2 and sends the ALCS back to the Bronx for game six on Saturday night. However, a huge rainstorm is scheduled for New York that evening.

A run-scoring single by Vladimir Guerrero tied the game at 6-6 for the Angels, coming back from a 4-0 deficit.

The Yankees loaded the bases against LA closer Brian Fuentes with two outs in the ninth. Fuentes walked Alex Rodriguez with nobody on, walked Hideki Matsui and plunked Robinson Cano, who earlier gave the Bronx Bombers a 6-4 lead on a two-run triple in the seventh.

With a full count on Nick Swisher, Fuentes got him to pop out to shallow left field, ending the New York rally, and the game.
