Sportsradio: Stanford (4-3) head coach Jim Harbaugh said he had a great game plan going into Arizona (4-2) last Saturday but the defense just couldn't hold the Wild Cats quarterback Nick Foles who threw for 451 yards and completed 40 passes and three touchdowns who won it by ten points 48-38 in what Harbaugh called a heartbreaker. Where's the defense for Stanford?
Why do I have to answer this question every week. The team is young and they are building. The Cardinal played a good game; it's just unfortunate that they lost. I guarantee that next year the Cardinal will remember this game and change the outcome.
Sportsradio: UCLA (3-3) has some issues now after dropping their game to the Cal Bears (4-2) last Saturday 45-26 the Bruins have not won a game in the Pac Ten yet and their poll rating plummeting on the other hand Cal gets a sigh of relief with their win over UCLA on the road. Tell us what the tale of these two schools situations are. Also head coach Jeff Tedford has been with Cal for seven years this is the first time he's won in Los Angeles against either USC or UCLA.
Honestly the tale is they are two struggling programs, and Rick Neuheisel is not God! The Bears are little better than the Bruins, but not much. It's easy to beat of your little brother. When is Cal going to beat up the bullies in the Pac-10 (USC, Oregon)? Until that happens Cal is just a over hyped program with a good running back and UCLA is just a terrible program in search of Divine Intervention.
Sportstalk: It was 100 degrees in L.A. and Shane Vereen had an afternoon in the sun rushing for 154 yards, averaging 9.1, one touchdown, Javhid Best had a 93 yard run third best in Cal history for a touchdown run and earlier he caught a 51 yard touchdown pass from Kevin Reilly who threw for three touchdowns and no interceptions against the number one pass defensive UCLA. How come Cal did so well on the road in 100 degree against UCLA but lost so badly the previous two games to Oregon and USC and talk a little about the victory over UCLA.
Must I??? I just told yo in the last question that this game was just something Cal gets to put in the W column. It means nothing outside the state of California, and very little inside the state of California. So, I guess Cal now has a chance to play in the Emerald Bowl instead of the New Mexico Bowl. Please give me a break. I cannot and will not drink the Kool-Aide of either of these programs which are both missing in action.
Final Thoughts
1. Let the madness begin. IT'S BASKETBALL SEASON!!!!!!!!!!
2. Let the crying, whining, wheeling and dealing begin. The first BCS rankings are out and Boise State and Cincinnati are in the top five.
3. Hey Michigan great job beating up on Delaware State, a BCS Sub-Division school. I bet you feel like big boys now.
4. I will not be answering questions next week. I will be in Washington, DC at my alma mater Howard University for Homecoming. If you've never been to Homecoming at an HBCU (Historically Black College & Universities) you are missing a party. I am going to unforgivably attempt to relive my undergraduate years. I leave you in the very capable hands of my little brother Jeremy Kahn. J., don't hurt'em with the truth.
