1. Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh yelled and flung his hat after officials in Harbaugh's words blew a second quarter call on a kick off that Irish returner Armando Allen had bounce off his hands and was recovered by Stanford at the Irish 37. The official however called Stanford's Nate Wilcox-Fogel for interfering with the catch. The replays showed he did not and Harbaugh said that was the crux of the game losing by a touchdown 28-21 to Notre Dame. Stanford (3-3, 2-1) could have won their third straight game if they could have nailed this one down by Notre Dame. How much was it a factor in having that play called back on Stanford's loss?

I am sure that blown call was a factor. Stanford should build up enough of a lead that a blown call does not make a difference in the outcome of the game. Sounds a little like the "Tuck Rule" game. Win four quarters; a referee can't derail your team.

2. The Bears (4-1, 2-0) Nate Longshore had himself an afternoon with 17 of 28 completions, one interception, and 198 yards, also filling in for running back Jahvid Best was Shane Vereen who rushed for 93 yards and a career high of 27 carries and 51 receiving yards and a career high of five catches in Cal's 24-14 win over ASU. The Bears are at Arizona coming up next right now the Bears are on a nice roll headed into that game with Best returning.

Cal will beat Arizona, but I don't know how to gage any team in the Pac-10. Half the Pac-10 has loss to one or more of the teams in the Mountain West Conference, and no one has a win against an impressive team. Yeah, Southern Cal beat Ohio State, but OSU plays in very awful Big 10. I wish Cal well, but this point until they play USC I don't know to say about them or the Conference.

Final Thoughts:

1. Why is Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones not suspended? Wasn't he caught in a car chopping up cocaine?

2. Can't you just hear the tremors beginning in Dallas? T.O. is rumbling and it's just a matter of times before there is a 4.0 earthquake. The Cowboys barely beat the Bengal yesterday and T.O. only had two balls thown his way. What is it with great receivers like Moss and T.O.?

3. As a Texan I am glad that the "Red River Shootout" finally means something again. If you don't know what I am talking about, it's Texas/OU weekend and both teams are in the AP Top 25.
