Astros open up spoiling Braves home cooking

Game #1 NLDS Houston leads series 1-0
Houston at Atlanta
Turner Field-The Houston Astros took no prisoners in Game One of the NLDS at Turner Field last Wednesday Night clobbering the Atlanta Braves and starting pitcher Tim Hudson 10-5.
The Astros opened up the series with a run when Morgan Ensberg's single scored Craig Biggio to put the Astros on top 1-0.
Tied in the third inning at 1-1 the Astros scored two runs to take the lead as Ensberg’s singled again for two RBI's to make it 3-1 Astros.
Taking a 5-3 lead going into the eighth inning the Astros launched a five run attack on the Braves as Jeff Bagwell singled to score Adam Everette. With the bags juiced Ensberg walked and forced Brad Aumus to score from third base. Biggio scored on a wild pitch, then Palmeiro singled to left for two RBI's capping a five run rally as the Astros took a 10-3 lead.
Braves starter Tim Hudson lasted 6.2 innings and ended up with the loss (0-1) as he gave up seven hits, on five runs, five walks, and three strike outs.
Chris Reitsma came in to relieve in the eighth for Atlanta and wound up giving up three hits, four runs. John Foster than came in for Reitsma and surrendered one hit and one run.
JC & Kenny G's footnotes: Game two of the series continues Thursday night. The Astros will start Roger Clemens and the Braves will counter with John Smoltz a 5:05 PM PDT first pitch.
This one should be a pitchers duel.
Game 2 ALDS Chicago leads series 2-0
Boston at Chicago White Sox
U.S. Cellular Field Chicago-With the Chicago White Sox ahead after beating the Red Sox Wednesday night at U.S. Cellular Field at one point the Red Sox were looking to tie the series at one a piece.
Down 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth the Chicago White Sox muscled up from four runs down.
Aaron Rowland got things rolling slamming a double to left field to score Cal Everett to make it 4-1 Boston.
Joe Crede came up and hit a single to center to score Rowland and made it 4-2. Then second baseman Tadahito Iguchi stroked a three run homer to deep left field which proved to be the gamer putting the Chisox up 5-4 later for the winning score.
"one of the biggest reasons we are here is because of Iguchi, he moves a guy over, he runs for me, he makes the plays, he hits home runs, he runs the bases right. This kid does everything for the team and that's why I keep on saying he's my MVP." said White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said.
Boston Manager Terry Francona is worried being down two games to none, "The perspective is we're down 0-2 I'd rather have it the other way the comfort I have is our ability to play."
JC and Kenny G's footnotes: Game three for this series is Friday night at Fenway Park. The Red Sox can get their fans behind them and at least try to tie this series up.
For Friday the White Sox will start Freddy Garcia and for Boston Tim Wakefield gets the call.
Game 2 ALDS Series is tied 1-1
New York Yankees at Los Angeles
This was a ball game no one knew for sure how it was going to turn out. The Yankees took a 2-0 lead early but by the fifth inning the Yanks couldn't hold on as the Los Angeles Angels pulled off a come back.
In the last of the fifth inning Juan Rivera hit a ball into deep center to get the Angels on the board 2-1.
L.A. catcher Bengie Molina hit a single to center in the bottom of the sixth inning to score Orlando Cabrera to tie it up 2-2.
In the Angels half of the seventh Molina belted a home run over the left field fence putting the Halos on top 3-2.
The Angels would add two more runs to make it 5-2. The Angels wound up winning the ball game.
JC and Kenny G's footnotes: The series moves to New York for game three as the Angels will start Paul Byrd (12-11 ERA 3.74) for 05 and he'll counter with the Yankees Randy Johnson (17-8 ERA 3.79) for 05. First pitch is slated for 5:05PM PDT Friday Night.
