Tigers, Twins and no Cabrera oh my! Should be announced by game time if Miguel Cabrera who got into a late night altercation on Saturday with his wife will start on Tuesday or not in Minnesota.
Cabrera got lit and then lit into his wife who then called 911 and Cabrera got a ride to the local hoosegaw for drunken disorderly and assault. He had scratch marks on his face when he returned to the ball park on Sunday.
His status for being in the Tiger line up is likely but it's a black eye for the Tigers whose embarrassed by the set two. My first thought about Cabrera is you are in the heat of a pennant race you are fighting for your life to avoid the most difficult collapse in Major League Baseball in history.
Is Cabrera with the opposition? Are you kidding me? Are you stupid? Have you lost your mind? Of course after that little soiree encounter Cabrera proceeded to go out and tank on Sunday and tank going 0-4.
The behavior of Miguel Cabrera is absolutely disgusting, here's Cabrera who had a banner year hitting .323, 33 home runs, 101 RBIs, and he has a eight year $152 million contract with the Tigers.
It's a misunderstood situation apparently Cabrera came home from a party in a suburban Detroit hotel and woke up his four year son and then the wife got involved and probably asked "where the heck he was" and that's when the kaos and the crying and the hitting began.
Tigers with back to wall: The weirdness of it all it's a 3'Oclock game Mountain and 2PM Pacific time on Tuesday. The amazingly thing about the rule for the Yankees are waiting to see who their going to play from this series on Thursday.
There is talk if the series with the Yankees could start on Wednesday or Thursday. If I'm in the Yankees clubhouse I would not want Tiger pitcher Justin Verlander to come back potentially on three days rest.
If I'm smart the series opens Wednesday end of story. The Tigers were up seven in the standings with 26 left to play and they couldn't hold it. They have been in first place everyday since May 10th and they couldn't hold it. Oh gosh, if the Tiger finish out this deal, I'm like are you kidding me? All that emotion was a waste of effort just having the set up the way it is with the entire season playing along that one would think that the Tigers were going to do well.
The fact that the Tigers were in first place for so long and they blew it and they have the potential to blow it here it makes it more aggravating. If I sound aggravated and not my normal funny self if anything I hope it make for good entertainment.
Sharks not to worry: After having their heads handed to them last Thursday by the Colorado Avalanche and then turning around and beating the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night the Sharks know that they can win a game and will take on the Kings Tuesday night at Staples.
You play 82 games and you have to learn that the system is what it is and as depressing as last year was you have to find a way to get your act together and get off your duff and try to make things better.
Right now the Sharks might feel a little bit groggy but it's the start of the season and it's only one loss people.
Hockey Night in Canada has arrived: I like it ladies and gentlemen absolutely when it's Don Cherry and it's Saturday night and it's Hockey Night in Canada's theme is blaring away on your television all is right with the universe.
The satellite operation those who have the NHL broadcast television broadcast package can get it for free for almost the entire month of October.
Stanford is going to be on a tear: The Cardinal are really up and coming and they are 4-1 and they have road games these next two weeks in Arizona State and Arizona. The real test will be in November for the Cardinal with the mighty tough Oregon Ducks and then they play at USC on the 14th.
If they win and if they keep winning and if they win for the rest of this month those home games in those first two weeks are going to be season tellers. Harbaugh's got them where he wants them as well as he should.
There are games that matter for the Cardinal coming up and that are still to come. Really, really, tough ones.
Warriors will miss out this season: You think back two years ago when all those towels were being waved at the Oracle Arena that read "We Believe" now no one has any faith anymore in the local five not even the guys playing for the local five do.
This team is 180 degrees from those two years ago. With Stephen Jackson begging for a trade, Monta Ellis saying he doesn't want to play with Stephen Curry, and forward Brandon Wright is out six months with a shoulder injury requiring surgery.
This a bad sign and a bad sign for things to come for Golden State.
