Terrell Owens the ex-49ers star and Cowboys wide receiver says not to believe that he overdosed on pain medication and that he had "an allergic reaction" and his publicist called 911 to get Owens checked out.

The publicist, it was reported by espn.com, called 911, saying that Owens tried to commit suicide but later that report was reversed and said he did not attempt to commit suicide and that report was false.

The call came at 7:51PM CDT Tuesday night to the Dallas 911 center, it was further reported that Owens had two pain killers pried from his mouth from his friend in the house and that Owens had taken five pills.

Lt .Rick Watson of the Dallas Police spokesman, said from Dallas headquarters that Owens was taken to the hospital and refused to confirm that it was a suicide attempt.

A police car followed the ambulance that took Owens to the hospital and Watson made it clear that that this was not a criminal case and it was a medical case.

Spokesman Joel Lavender from the Dallas Fire Department said that Owens was also taken to the hospital Lavender initially said that Owens was brought in for a suicide attempt but recanted later saying that it was for medical care and would not be specific.

This afternoon, Owens talked to the media and said that the whole thing was blown out of proportion and that Owens said that he was brought in because of a "allergic reaction" and that he feels fine and would be ready for Sunday's game.

Owens who broke his wrist had been on pain medication and had missed the last Cowboys game. "It was just an allergic reaction. It's unfortunate for the reports to go from a allergic reaction to a definite suicide attempt." said Owens.

Local talk shows in Dallas said after learning of the "allergic reaction" and the initial reports of a suicide attempt thinks that this is all hype to bring more attention to Owens who has been noted for standing on the Dallas star when he was a Niners.

Owens other antics in his past, include taking cheer leader pom poms on the sideline, having run ins with his ex-quarterbacks Jeff Garcia (San Francisco) and Donavon McNabb (Philadelphia), and signing a football after scoring a touchdown while with San Francisco, and having altercations with team mates in Philadelphia which lead to his demise in leaving Philadelphia.

This can be added to the latest of strange incidents involving Owens. If this is a hype thing you can only imagine what kind of reception he will encounter when he starts on Sunday for Dallas. But for now Owens is alright and ready to go.
