1. The Stanford Cardinal has now won two games one over Oregon State and the other over San Jose State, they have lost their other two to Arizona State and TCU. All things considered going into Washington 0-3 (0-1) do you think that the Cardinal offense can work the Huskies defense down and get by with a big victory in Seattle?
Why not, it's Washington, and Ty Willingham will be fired at the end of the season. The Huskies have not shown any type of offense or defense. The Cardinal should have big game and run Washington in the ground.
2. The Bears, after losing a heartbreaker in Maryland and having to adjust to east coast time for that game how do you like their chances coming home against Colorado State on Saturday?
Let's get one thing clear; Eastern Standard time had nothing to do with the loss took at Maryland. And, although they Cal caught a beat down at the hands of the Terrapins, they should have no problem beating Colorado State. A word of caution. The Mountain West has been putting a major butt whipping on the Pac-10 this year, don't look forward to the next game until you finish the game before you.
3. Dante Love of the Ball State Cardinals wide receiver broke his spine and sustained a spinal cord injury that will certainly end any chance of playing the sport again. Love was removed from critical condition, the good news is that Love is expected to make a full recovery but not be able to play football again. This is one of the many sad luck stories of guys who get a sniff of the NFL and something like an injury takes that chance away.
It is terrible to hear that anyone was severely injured playing football, but this young man needs to be concerned with how well he will be able to walk and live his life. He is a scholarship athlete and Ball State is obligated to make sure this young man gets the education he was promised when they recruited him. His recovery and his education should be the only focus of all parties involved.
Final Thoughts:
1. How sick and tired are we all of hearing how Lane Kiffin is about to be fired, AGAIN!!! And to top it all off a Oakland Raiders official gets in a fight with a San Jose sports reporter who simply asked the question that continues to stink up the Raiders young season.
2. I was out of town this past weekend and I had to watch football on regular network televison. I have the Sunday Ticket on DirectTv. I now know why sports bars are so popular. I am officially the bourgeoisie.
3. Yankee Stadium is no more . . . Oh wait it's still there, it's just accross the street and more expensive. Life goes on.
