Sportstalk: The Bears keep pouring it on with a big victory their third this season over the Minnesota Gophers on Saturday. The Bears running back Javhid Best gets the credit with five touchdowns a school record and the Bears are 3-0 and prepare to meet their first Pac Ten team on Saturday. On Best he almost looks unstoppable going into week four?

Cal's win against Mininesota was a good out of conferece win. But, please understand that the Golden Gophers are not the elite of the Big Ten Conference. Slow and steady wins the race, and the Bears have a really good chance to win the Pac 10.

Sportstalk: The Cardinal running back Toby Gerhart ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns which helped the Cardinal to upend the San Jose State Spartans 42-17. In his second year with the Cardinal what difference do you see that head coach Jim Harbaugh has put into this team?

C'mon man it was San Jose State. Don't get me wrong, I've got much love for SJSU, but really? Stanford was suppose to handle their business against the Spartans. I still believe that the Cardinal will have a much improved season and will see a bowl game. But don't try to make more of this win than is necessary or deserved.

Sportstalk: The Cardinal host their second of three straight home games against Washington on Saturday at Stanford Stadium with the Cardinal at 2-1 and facing their first conference opponent this week how much of an advantage is it for the Cardinal playing three straight home games?

You saw what the Huskies did to USC last weekend, now Stanford will be put to their first real test in the Pac 10. Let's see if Washington will be focused or still high off the victory over Southern Cal.

Final Thoughts:

1. We still haven't heard anything about displinary actions taken against the Boise State player who instigated the altercation with LaGarrett Blount.

2. Will the NBA lock out the refs? David Stern . . . You better think long and hard before you do something that will adversely affect the impending NBA season. No one wants to see a lockout when this year promises to be one of the most exciting in resent history. There is no clear front runner for the NBA title, and if there is a lockout of the refs you put players like Bryant, James, Garnett and Wade in harms way by employing less experienced referees.

3. Is Tom Brady back??? He's looking kinda scared if you ask me. Where is your swagger Tom?
