Sportstalk: The Giants finally put on a show last Sunday with a big win over Milwaukee after dropping two out of three from them. Is it a matter of the Giants slipping in those first two or is it a matter of San Diego and Colorado slipping in their games on Sunday because it could go down to the wire here?
Huh?
Of COURSE it's going down to the wire. Why else would the final weekend be Padres at Giants? I'd like to think that Colorado losing to the Dodgers Sunday, after leading 6-1, will prove fatal to them. They slipped back a full game, and after charging from 10.5 back to 0.5 back, gave up ground, finally. That is often deadly if you don't actually catch who you are pursuing.....we shall see.
Sportstalk: Which series seems to have you the most concerned the Giants in Chicago against a Cubs team who like the Brewers have nothing to lose or the almighty Rockies at Coors?
At Coors.
Sportstalk: Here's a chance for anybody who liked the Yankees and hated the Red Sox or hated the Dodgers and liked the Giants to throw their lungs out this week at the White Sox Manny Ramirez, who is at the Coliseum for the first time as a White Sox. It may not mean much to post season but what does this mean for Manny and the thousands who line up at the Coliseum to see this series?
It might not mean much to the post season, but it means even less to Manny and the hundreds who will not have to line up at all to see this series. Now, it means a lot to me -- I'll be there, working for MLB.com and also as Wednesday's Official Scorer. But, if you don't have to be there, you probably won't be.
