Sportstalk: J, the Bears keep pouring it on with a big victory their third this season over the Minnesota Gophers on Saturday. The Bears running back Javhid Best gets the credit with five touchdowns a school record and the Bears are 3-0 and prepare to meet their first Pac Ten team on Saturday. On Best he almost looks unstoppable going into week four?
Best is a great player, and I cannot wait to see him go up against the Oregon Ducks this Saturday at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. The Ducks may not be the same with LaGarrette Blount, who is suspended for the remainder of the season after punching a Boise State player in the face after the Broncos defeated the Ducks on the Blue Turf in Boise on September 3. Autzen Stadium is one of the loudest stadiums on the West Coast, and the Golden Bears better be ready for the noise. Nothing against the Golden Bears first three opponents, but they are not on the same level as teams in the PAC-10 Conference.
Sportstalk: The Cardinal running back Toby Gerhart ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns which helped the Cardinal to upend the San Jose State Spartans 42-17. In his second year with the Cardinal what difference do you see that head coach Jim Harbaugh has put into this team?
This is Harbaugh's third year on the Farm, and I truly believe that he has the Cardinal believing that they can compete the upper echelon of the teams in the conference. Toby Gerhart does not get a lot of publicity; because of Jahvid Best. but he is a talented running back.
Sportstalk: The Cardinal host their second of three straight home games against Washington on Saturday at Stanford Stadium with the Cardinal at 2-1 and facing their first conference opponent this week how much of an advantage is it for the Cardinal playing three straight home games?
The Huskies are coming off a huge upset of the USC Trojans on Saturday afternoon, as kicker Eric Folk hit a field goal in the waning seconds of the game to give the Huskies a 16-13 victory. As for the home-field advantage, it does matter; however the play on the field decides the games, not the fans in the stands.
