Why in the world are football players dating porn stars? That's all I have to say about the San Diego Chargers Shawn Merriman and his latest legal tiff with former girlfriend Tia Tequila after she accused him of trying to strangle her.
If you date porn stars your asking for trouble in the worst possible way. We now have a he said , she said situation as Merriman said he didn't try and strangle her and when paramedics came they couldn't find any evidence that Merriman tried to strangle her and Merriman has claimed his innocence telling a San Diego Superior Court he's not guilty.
This story is going to get more gossipy and TMZ.com is already having a field day with this story already and that other fine television program that's very good for journalism and yes it's more gossip.
If the Chargers are angry or disappointed with Merriman they will never say on the record but I think they are,
Seymour has not reported to Raiders: Newest defensive lineman Richard Seymour has not reported to the Raiders practice facilities yet after getting traded to Oakland for a future number one pick for the Patriots.
Seymour claims he has some unfinished business he has to clear up before taking off for Oakland. Seymour was in the last season of his $3.7 million contract with the Patriots. Raiders head coach Tom Cable is excited about obtaining Seymour as soon as possible "we have attempted to make a deal, there are some issues still between him and the Patriots that are being worked out. I'm hoping that that will get resolved as quickly as possible. We know the player wants to be here, but we really have no control over those issues." said Cable.
Seymour is leaving an organization that has won 74-96 games in New England in six years and of course your going to the complete opposite with the Raiders being the worst team in the NFL in six years, oh I don't know, the Super Bowl year!
Yes you have veteran leadership now but there are way too many other issues to be addressed the Seymour trade is a nice trade but it's not a cure all and there is a lot more work that needs to be done.
Garcia departure not a surprise: There was a chance for veteran leadership in that locker room but quarterback Jeff Garcia wanted to be the starter and didn't want to show JaMarcus Russell the ropes of being a starter since he was going for the job himself Garcia in turn was released and the Raiders said he was brought to Oakland for the purpose of teaching Russell and being the number two quarterback.
The other reason why is the Raiders felt that Garcia's skills were eroding.
Pat's will be fine: The New England Patriots will be a fine and quarterback Tom Brady is healthy and is back. Allegedly there were some problems which got the snoops in high gear my sources tell me. Do not be surprised if the Pats are amongst the favorites for Super Bowl XLIV.
Deutesche Bank sees Tiger making a move: Tiger Woods is five strokes behind Steve Stricker after having the lead but knew it would not last long. Stricker who is in 11th place is one goal that Tiger will try and play catch up with on Tuesday.
Tiger birdied the first four holes and then eagled number 6 Monday morning he bogeyed the 11th and 17th and played the back nine in two under, "whether you can win a tournament or not, it doesn't matter. You go out there and post a low number, as low as you've got for that day.It doesn't change, whether you've just made the cut or your dew sweeping on the last day. It doesn't matter. You post a low round and see what happens, you can feel good about it you know." said Tiger.
