PHILADELPHIA-After leaving the New York Mets 7-6 victory over the San Diego Padres last night, I headed back into Midtown Manhattan and had one final jaunt thru Times Square before I left.

I got off the Number Seven train at the end of the line, which happens to be at Times Square.

I decided to walk up Seventh Avenue and head back to Carnegie Deli, where I had the best Corned Beef on rye (of course) sandwich in my entire life on Sunday night.

On this very night, at such a late hour, I decided on a getting a Meat Knish (a Jewish delicacy), if you are wondering a Knish is like an Empanada.

This morning, I headed over to the Port Authority at the corner of West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue and boarded a bus headed for Philadelphia, with stops in Mt. Laurel and Camden, New Jersey along the way.

After finally arriving in “The City of Brotherly Love,” at approximately 12:20 (Local time) this afternoon, I decided to go on a walking tour of Philadelphia.

This was no ordinary walking tour, instead of heading to Independence Bell and the Liberty Bell, I decided to walk over to City Hall and take a picture of the beautiful building that was made ever so famous in the Rocky series and the movie “Philadelphia,” starring Oakland native Tom Hanks.

I walked up the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and walked towards the Philadelphia Museum of Art and their famous steps.

When I finally reached the steps, I decided to run up the steps ala Rocky and raise my fists in the air when I made it to the top.

I did make it to the top myself and about 30 other people who had the exact same thing in mind as I did.

After running up and down the steps, I found the Rocky statue that was dedicated during Rocky III in 1982.

I took a few pictures, and headed back to my hotel and began the second part of my tour of Philadelphia, with a trip to South Philadelphia.

I walked over to the corner of 8th and Chestnut Streets, where I picked up the bus and headed towards South Philly and my destination.

Unfortunately, I missed my stop on the bus and had to get off of that bus and onto another bus to get to my destination.

Finally, another bus appeared and I got on that bus and headed in the right direction.

I got off the bus at the corner of 7th and Washington and walked about to two blocks to my intended destination.

I finally made it to the corner of 9th and Passyunk, and the legendary “Pat’s King of Steaks,” where I had an Original Philly Cheesesteak.

Of course, I have had them in the Bay Area and twice before when I was here in Philadelphia in 1997.

After devouring my Cheese W/Wit, and a bottle of water, it was time to head over to Citizens Bank Park, where I had a credential awaiting me thanks to the Phillies Media Relations Department.

I went over to Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles and was amazed to see what a beautiful football stadium that the Eagles played in and shared with Temple University.

“The Linc,” as it is known to Philadelphians is also the home to the annual Army-Navy game every December.

Across the street from Lincoln Financial is Citizens Bank Park, but in the parking lot of Lincoln Financial is the Spectrum, which is former home to the Philadelphia 76ers and the Philadelphia Flyers.

The 76ers and Flyers now play at the Wachovia Center, which stands where John F. Kennedy Stadium used to be until it was demolished in 1992.

I finally picked up my credential and headed into this beautiful facility that opened in 2004.

After going down to the field, and getting a birds-eye view of what beautiful ballpark the Philadelphia Phillies play in.

The downtown skyline appeared over the center-field wall about two to three miles away, and I can compare the skyline to downtown San Francisco or Midtown Manhattan looking at it from Shea Stadium

Unfortunately, on this night, the weather looks like a typical San Francisco evening with the fog rolling in.

As fate would have it, the San Francisco Giants long-time rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers were the opponents for the Phillies.

The game was a total blowout, as the Dodgers simply destroyed the Phillies by the final score of 15-3.

This was the end of my baseball odyssey on the East Coast, as I return to the West Coast on August 28, which happens to be my 36th birthday.

I will be back at a game on September 1, as the Oakland A’s host the Detroit Tigers.

My first game back at AT&T will be on September 7, when the Giants play host to the Dodgers.
