The Zulewski report

The NCAA had a college coaches luncheon in New York to have their media day and it tells you something in terms of how they want to be a player now in the grand scheme of things and though Oregon who is likely favored in the coaches poll to win the Pac Ten and do some damage when the Pac Ten season rolls around. The talk now in New York was about Colorado and Utah joining the Pac Ten.

Sorting out USC: The issue for USC is Lane Kiffin spreading like an ugly cancer. Here he was at Tennessee claiming to big loyal through thick and thin and here he runs away after a very non descript and very average 7-6 year.

Now he pulls away one of the Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Ficher's assistants Kennedy Pola and now the Titans are the process of suing USC. Are they kidding me what else can Kiffin and USC can do to screw up?

The Reggie Bush era in the USC media guide has the Trojans with seven trophy winners down to six and keep in mind their suspended from any bowl games after this season. The whole thing is a screwed up mess and it will take almost the whole season to really uncover what really went on with USC just to figure out the stupidity of this.

The USC soap opera will be a distraction how can it not be. You work your tail off all year Kiffin ends his debut as an NFL coach one and done with one team the Raiders and owner Al Davis wanted to just run him out of town on a rail. The way that Kiffin has shaped up how can you be disloyal to the most passionate fan base in all of college football.

The way things are shaping up for USC right now it's ugly and Kiffin is a big part of that party. There was one prominent player who ended up bailing out who was interested in USC. That tells you something USC The method to the madness that's just border line nuts and just look at the after effects of the whole thing the whole program is in the toilet.

Cal: No telling how good Cal is going to be this year and the other schools are so good and Oregon is picked to finish first and they can be focused on what to do for the upcoming school year. Cal was picked seventh in the preseason poll Cal received 134 first place votes to first place Oregon who got 314 first place votes. The Bears will open their season against the UC Davis Aggies on September 4th it will be the first meeting between the two clubs since 1939 when UC Davis defeated the Bears 14-12. The Bears were from the bigger university and were expected to win but the Aggies surprised many with the victory. The upside to that game was it was a lot cheaper to get into UC Davis than it is today.

Colorado: For the last several years Colorado have not done well an last year Colorado was truly good and figured into a January 1st bowl mix which was back in the late 90s and they been average since then and they had games when Thanksgiving week truly used to mean something.

Right now with the rivalries that'll change and it'll be a change and adjustment and indirectly its going to the same for the University of Utah without question.

Stanford: Progression for Stanford and before head coach Jim Harbaugh came Stanford wasn't much of a program and didn't light the world on fire for a lack of a better word. The way it goes with Stanford when they beat USC at the Coliseum in L.A. that was the story of the upward tick.

Coach Harbaugh is in his comfort zone and I can't see him leaving Stanford anytime soon and definitely it helps the program. Harbaugh said of the quarterbacking situation "right now if something was to happen to Andrew Luck, it's Alex Loukas, if one of them seizes the job then Loukas will remain at safety."
