SAN FRANCISCO--The 49ers are pushing personal seat licenses in order to help pay for their new stadium. The battle cry here is "get em while their hot" just like the other sold out fare that will help pay for putting the new 49ers Stadium in Santa Clara.
The cost for the stadium alone will run $1 billion, Santa Clara will charge $35 million in hotel taxes, $168 million for luxury hotel boxes to sold, and 68,000 seats on a 15 acreage property owned by the team.
Here's the kicker the price tag for voter approved tax payer monies for the stadium $79 million there is no turning back here. Their is a fraction of Santa Clarians who can't deal with that kind of funding scrapped off the top of tax dollars to help pay for a stadium that some voters voted against. None the less the cost to the people of Santa Clara will be the $79 million and then some.
The personal seat licensing costs will help pay for the stadium costs but certainly will be a small percentage considering the price tag to build the place will run $1 billion. Legends Premium Sales is helping the 49ers with the sale of the licensees and from the looks of things the Niners will really depend on the sales of the licensees to help chip in for the cost of the stadium.
Cup crazy: The U.S. Women's soccer team have a tough task ahead of them when they face the Brazilians for Wednesday's quarterfinals. The Yankees lost to Sweden on a free kick last Wednesday by Sweden's Nilla Fischer the kick was deflected and in it found it's way to the back of the net and sank the U.S.' chances to break a 1-1 deadlock.
The Americans got their first goal from Abby Wambach in the 67th minute to even the score but it was Fischer's goal who ended the deadlock and got Sweden the one goal victory and get Sweden on the schedule for their next game Wednesday morning at 11:45AM against Australia.
The U.S. team plays Brazil Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM this ones going to be a tough one. The meeting with the United States will be the first meeting between Brazil and the U.S. since 1986. Brazil finished third for the World Cup in 1999. In 1998 and 99 they were runners up for the world cup.
In the 2000 games Brazil finished fourth and in 2004 the Brazilians were runners up to the World Cup. In 2002 and 2004 the Brazilian U-20 team finished fourth place in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Championship.
Count on the Americans to have their hands full all day against Brazil, the Brazilians have the most successful women's team in South America winning the first of four installments of the South American Championships.
