Giants Questions:

1. What do you make of the recent speculation and talk about a possible Bonds indictment coming in July?

Gimblin and Cronin: The former prosecutor U.S. Attorney Kevin Ryan who couldn't offer any firm dates but he said felt that there was a strong possibility that there would be an indictment on the other hand the current U.S. San Francisco Attorney Scott Schools is not commenting, but we can understand why because he would have to be the prosecutor.

But what is being indicated is and we've pretty much have known this all along that the government and Ryan at the time were trying to indict Bonds and they were working hard to do it and according to Ryan there is a possibility that that may come about.

2. Barry Bonds has been balloting forth for a spot on the National League outfield for the All-Star game and N.L. Manager Tony LaRussa almost undoubtedly will select him because the game is in San Francisco and because Babo is who he is.

Cronin and Gimblin: We think that because he's playing at AT&T Park in San Francisco is the reason why he's going to be selected and because the Giants aren't doing that well who would you really pick up to represent San Francisco and every team needs to be represented by someone.

A lot of people feel that catcher Benji Molina should be selected and we would agree on that but we think that Bonds will probably be selected.

It's interesting though Bonds is still hitting although that’s slowing down but on defense Bonds is a real liability. Bonds has trouble getting to the ball, he has trouble running and he's been even thrown out at first base on what should have been a base hit and runners will score on him when he's playing left.

A ball will get hit to him and get by him and his throw to the infield is not that strong because his arm can't do what it used to do and I've seen runners at first base score on Babo. So what normally would be a single has turned into a double. So if Bonds plays in the All-Star game your going to see them pitching away from him and your going to see him play a weak left field.

3. Has all the talk about Bonds and the negative publicity that he has had been a distraction to the team at all?

Cronin and Gimblin: We're not sure if that’s the case and this is not any secret and Bonds is a very negative person. That is picked up in the clubhouse but one comment we have to make really looking at it and not being in the legal profession and the question we have and it's an important one: What is Ryan the former U.S. Attorney doing making comments to the Chronicle? To us that looks very unprofessional and we're going to criticize Ryan right now it's not even his case he was fired and he's mouthing off to the papers about this and that and frankly he should have been quiet and Schools the current U.S. Attorney should be the one going out and doing it.

Just go out and do it and just don't say we might and all that and that's what were looking at the former prosecutor doing and to me Ryan doesn't have a say in it.
