It came as no surprise to the Scaryone that the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Federal Judge Susan Illston's decision to bar evidence from Barry Bond's trainer Greg Anderson. After serving prison time Greg Anderson made it known that he would not testify for the prosecution under any circumstances.
During the time it has taken to reach this point in the Barry Bond's case many thought to be clean baseball players such as Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees have admitted to steroid use. Famous athletes in other sports have come forward about their own steroid or performance enhancing drug use. I don't think it’s a stretch to say that a good percentage of all elite athletes in all sports have juiced!
Don't get me wrong gentle readers! Barry Bonds is a world class charm school dropout but that doesn't mean that the U.S Government can trample on his rights with impunity. Major League Baseball, Commissioner Bud Selig and the team owners are all hypocrites! They had a love fest with Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire while deciding that Barry Bonds was the Darth Vader of baseball.
Even President Barak Obama said Congress didn't need to meddle in Major League baseball's problems. Right now the country has enough more important matters than to have politicians indulging in mucho grandstanding over steroids. The reality is not Disneyland folks. Our government doesn't always represent the men in white hats and a ball player making big bucks is no worse than our pious elected representatives. Lets lay this steroid thing to rest! The longer it goes on the better Barry Bonds looks!
