The team goes onto face New York and have lost eight of their last 11 games. The Monday game in Washington where Madison Bumgarner pitched seven innings, giving up four hits and two runs with seven strikeouts and lost the game and got no run support. What's Bruce Bochy to do what's wrong with San Francisco? Wait for the offense. They had a horrid stretch like this last year, too. They got key hits Tuesday against the Mets. Sportstalk: Willie Mays turns 80 years old this week and has enjoyed an above and beyond playing career and a great community ambassador for the Giants. The one question that still rings when it comes down to the best player ever in the game of baseball was it Babe Ruth (who pitched for the Sox too) or the Say Hey Kid? Why does it matter? Willie was the best I ever saw play, but I did not see Ruth. Instead of dithering over this, let's rejoice in the complexity of a game that lets Mays defend and throw and run while Ruth pitched.
