SACRAMENTO - The Sacramento Kings return home for Game 3 of their first-round Western Conference playoff series against the Seattle Supersonics at ARCO Arena Friday night. The Kings have dropped the first two games of the series and will have to battle to get even with Seattle, a very quick and smart offensive team.

With home cooking, the Kings should beat the Super Sonics, but they're going to outscore them rather than out-blast them. The Kings don't have the great defense that we're all so used to. What happened over the last half of the season is that the Kings outlasted teams rather than defensed them.

It takes a while for a good defense to come together. You can't do it with people coming on and off the injured list. The Kings should bea worthy opponent for Seattle. The Sonics have a lot of trouble playing in Sacramento and the Kings should be coming to play because they have to.

The Sonics are a No. 3 seed, but we don't think they're the most serious 3-seed we've ever seen in the playoffs. You noticed in the first two games how the Sonics built huge leads, but the Kings were almost able to catch them each time. If you're able to do that on the road, it's something that you should be able to do at home, too.

The Kings should get Game 3 and get back in the series Friday night at ARCO. All the Kings need to do is shut down Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. They'll definitely have to play some defense to get back at those two guys because they're great, great scorers.

Ken Gimblin and Joe Cronin will be following the NBA Playoffs throughout its duration and report just to you and you only. They will follow the Kings through the Playoffs upon any kind of Kings elimination they'll cover the rest of the NBA for you.
