When you win two majors that's saying something spectacular and Angel Cabrera who won at the Augusta Tournament over the weekend did so back in 2007 at the U.S. Open and Cabrera has that on his resume. When you win multiple majors that's impressive and when there your only wins that's pretty darn good.
Cabrera should not have been in that playoff last Sunday but he found a way to climb that thing out and it was something to see. Cabrera was playing consistent golf all day long on Sunday and he had his share of the lead all day long on Sunday with Kenny Perry and he just grounded out.
Perry should have won the tournament to be quiet honest when your up two holes up with two holes to go normally you should be able to secure the deal but Cabrera found a way. He simply found a way go get it done and he was clutch when he suppose to be clutch.
For Perry he missed a tee shot at 16 that nearly went in the hole for an ace and he got the birdie and got the two shot lead at 17 and then he ended up going bogie bogie and it forced a three man playoff.
Cabrera's putt for par 18 and getting there was no picnic and he drove it perfectly.
No Tiger and Phil show: The fact that they were about an hour ahead of the final groups that was a little telling. It had the rest of the group saying, "fine go ahead and cheer but don't forget were still out there, were still playing" and when Tiger whiffed his eagle putt chance at 15 and Mickleson did likewise that was the tournament right there.
Woods was searching in the Woods for the ball he knew it was over immediately, he had the body language that said I just lost my best last chance. There was no miracle shot in the bag this time.
The Augusta course: This course is one of the most challenging in the majors and the game was super challenging for everybody. The winning number at 12 under that's something. They wanted birdies and they got them and the weather cooperated for a change too.
It wasn't windy to give players headaches it was a good tournament for everybody and it was a great tournament to watch.
Cabrera could have another good shot: You know what was funny he had played in 29 tournaments since he won the opener in 2007 he missed the cut ten times. Cabrera had only one top ten finish.
The way it is now the fact that he's emerged like this it's something and he's got to take it and move forward and it's not going to be easy but if he takes this and moves forward and we'll see when the U.S. Open starts in June.
