Sportstalk: Michelle the Cardinal on Sunday night were lights out but near the end of the game the Sooners almost turned out the lights cutting the lead to just four points. The Sooners were down by as much as 18 points in this game. What character, what heart describes Stanford holding the line and finishing the job against the Sooners?
The Sooners were really no match for the Cardinal. Stanford wants to play the best and that is UConn. The Cardinal are the last team to beat the Huskies and can possibly be the Huskies first loss in over 75 games. We will see on Tuesday night. The Cardinal have lots of heart, but they will have to play smart and minimize scoring by Tina Charles and Maya Moore. They have to pressure the others on the UConn team to score. You can't stop Charles and Moore, but you can minimize their scoring with some shutdown defense.
Sportstalk: UConn came into the Final Four with 76 straight wins, talk about the job that Tina Charles did and what she meant to the Huskies to get them this far and the job Maya Moore has done they've averaged 18 points per game for UConn?
The entire UConn roster did their jobs, but the hardest game the will play will be on Tuesday night, partly because they will be playing a Stanford team who doesn't fear them, and partly because they have more to lose than just a game. They have a 76 game winning streak to lose.
Sportstalk: The Butler did it: On Monday night the Bulldogs face off against a larger, taller, Duke team. Butler has played David all March Madness long do you think the Championship will be any different against the Goliath Blue Devils?
People have already inked Duke to win another National Championship. I am going with Butler. Butler has been counted out in just about of every round of this tournament and has risen to the occasion every time. I have no reason to believe that they will not continue their winning ways against Duke. Duke has not played as competitive a schedule as Butler. This years ACC was not the ACC of five years ago. All the teams in the conference played below the level of past years. I believe the Bulldogs have one more stellar performance in them to get them the ultimate reward, an NCAA National Championship.
Final Thoughts:
1. This weekend the Philadelphia Eagles traded Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins and team within their NFC East Division. WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING!!!! Trading a valuable quarterback to a team not only in your division, but just two hours down the road from you. I can tell you now that this move will come back to haunt you two to three times next year. Depending were Washington ends up in the playoff race.
The Eagles are hanging their future on the arm of Kevin Kolb. Good luck with that one. I don't think that Michael Vick is the answer to their prayers either. If your gonna clean house you should get rid of everyone and bring in three new QBs. I have one final question. Why did you get rid of Donovan McNabb and not fire Andy Reid??? Hummmmm????
2. Tiger Woods is playing at Augusta this week in the Masters golf tournament. Ok, I have paid my Tiger Woods tithe. That's all the ink he gets from me.
3. The ESPN 30 for 30 Series will be about Allen Iverson and the issues he had before attending Georgetown University. I think this is going to be very interesting. A definite must see or must DVR. I've really been enjoying ESPN 303 for 30. My favorite thus far is The "U".
