PORTLAND, Ore. – The San Jose Earthquakes have finished their pre-season games with a victory. They are now preparing for the regular season games to begin. On Friday, March 28th, Kamara and Salinas delivered 2 goals to win against the Portland Timbers 2-1.

The goals started in the eighth minute as Kei Kamara pounced on a failed goal stop from the Timbers goalkeeper. Ramiro Corrales had taken a free kick which setup Ryan Cochrane for a shot on goal. The goalkeeper stopped it but did not control the ball and Kamara took it home.

The second goal came in the first half also. The rookie Salinas drove in a shot to the goal from 20 yards out. The ball went high and to the side of the goal and the keeper could not stop it. This was Salinas first goal of the preseason, while Kamara has had 5 goals already.

Portland did score a goal in the 71st minute of the game, but it was not enough to stop the Quakes. The goal was scored by Tim Kraralexis from about 6 yards out.

This concludes your pre-season quakes soccer. They ended with a 5-1-2 record.

Watch on April 3rd for the first regular season game against the Los Angeles Galaxy at The Home Depot Center at 7:30p.m.
