Sportstalk: The Stanford Women for their win on Saturday night over No.15 seeded Santa Barbara 74-39 gets to play at a lower seeded building in San Diego. The Cardinal have a good chance to rise to the occasion how do you like their chances playing in the next round?
Stanford always make it out of the first round. The question is can they make it to the Elite 8 and the Final Four? If they can make it past the second round then ask me if they have a chance.
Sportstalk: The Stanford Men get ready to face Wichita State on Monday night after a 20 point win over Boise on Saturday night. The Cardinal have the offense to beat Wichita; How do you like the Cardinal chances here with the offense they've all year?
Ok, I know this is horrible, but it's the NIT . . . is anyone really paying attention? I know that I'm not. They don't say that NIT means "Not In Tournament" for nothing.
Sportstalk: The Cal Women (26-6) played to a huge 70-47 victory in Los Angeles on Saturday night beating Fresno State (24-9). Cal coach Joanne Boyle says "It's either shoot three or get to the basket" which Cal did against Fresno. The Bears face Virginia (24-9) on Monday night in round two in Trenton N.J. what do you see in this match up?
I see a very close game. Cal and Virginia are very evenly matched. This should be a very good game to watch lots of offense and defense being played by both teams. This is a chance for Cal to let people know that they are for real and are going to being around for a while.
Final Thoughts:
1. Donte' Stallworth of the Cleveland Browns hit and killed a pedestrian while driving drunk. It still amazes me that people with the means don't hire a driver when they go out to party. You're a multi-millionaire; you couldn't hire a limo for the night and then get your load on. Stallworth is not the only one, and this is not about him in particular. This is about lack of judgment. And, don't think for a minute that Stallworth is the only one out there doing this. Let's hope that all sport address while it fresh in our minds.
2. The NBA Playoffs begin on April 19th, and the mad scramble in the East and West for the 8th spot is on. Now you’re going to see some basketball being played.
3. My Brackets have exploded in my face, how are they treating you?
