1. Stanford moves forward with a big win over Marquette 82-81 on a baseline jumper with just 1.3 seconds left by Brook Lopez to move onto the Sweet 16.

Is this just par for the course in line of the kind of season that the Cardinal have had and what a finish to win it.

It is just one game in a series of games. As you can see by some of the events over the past two days nothing is certain when you are in the NCAA tournament. Stanford played hard and they won, but it doesn't get any easier, and I'll be surprised if they make it to the Elite 8. But, since Duke and UConn are gone it is anyone's guess who is going where. I still say UCLA is the team to beat.

2. Cal Men are at Ohio State on Monday night. The Bears, after having a meltdown towards the end of their regular season, woke up in the NIT and have won two of their last three games and now take on the Buckeyes. Where do you think the Bears would stand if they can pull off a win in Ohio State Monday night.

Since I don't think they will beat Ohio State: I think they stand on the corner of Telegraph and Durant. Yeah, I know I said the Bears would lose to New Mexico; but ask yourself, did Cal win the game or did New Mexico give it away?

3. Cal Women got their first victory in the NCAA Tournament in 15 years with a win over San Diego 77-60. The Bears (27-6) play George Washington (26-6) on Monday night how do you see this match up.

Cal is a sleeper team. I think the talent in the Pac 10 is tougher than that of the Atlantic 10 at this time. I see Cal getting to the next round and loosing to Rutgers.

Final Thoughts:

1. How come every time a Black Athlete appears in a top magazine . . . oh let's say, Vanity Fair, they look like buffoons? LeBron James is on the cover of a certain magazine with super model Gieselle. He looks like the big scary Black man attacking the fair White maiden with his lethal basketball. Why couldn't be in a dignified pose with a well tailored designer suit on? LeBron, shame on you for allowing yourself to look like the White American nightmare, and shame on the editors of Vanity Fair for not looking beyond the corners of their small minds.

2. The Raiders just signed cornerback DeAngelo Hall formerly of the Atlanta Falcons. This is a good signing, but don't you think you need to find someone to protect your overweight quarterback? You need to find a veteran offensive lineman, a couple of guys actually. How long are you going to keep Robert Gallery? The offensive line is like Swiss cheese, and Gallery is a gaping whole.

3. It's almost time for the Masters. Gentlemen, start your man crushes now!! The object of your affection . . . Tiger Woods. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to slobber over him more than a toddler that is teething. This message will self destruct in 10 seconds. Good Luck journalists, good luck.
