1. Michelle you know Carolina is set for the big dance (32-2) they are AP polled at number one. Do you think the Tar Heels can stand up to the pressure again this year? This is the first time since 1998 that the Tar Heels have lead the in the final rankings and previous to 1998 have finished at #1 six straight times.
North Carolina will make it to the Final Four, but they won't win.
2.UCLA's Kevin Love and Luc Richard Mbah A Moute are coming back off injuries and the Bruins play number 16 seeded Mississippi Valley State (17-5). UCLA leads all number one seeded teams with a 14-2 record. How far will UCLA go?
UCLA will win the National Championship this year. Yeah, I said it! UCLA WILL WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!! They are the most experienced team in the field, and they have played a really diverse schedule this year. As for the SWAC Champion, Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils, located in Itta Bena, Mississippi, enjoy your time in California gentlemen. It won't be long.
3. Cal 16-15 (6-12) who lost by 22 points to UCLA on March 12th play New Mexico 24-8 (11-5) on Wed March 19th at Haas for the NIT. The Lobos lost their last game to Utah in OT 82-80. How do you see this game finishing out?
Lobos win, Cal is awful, and Ben Braun finally gets fired. This will happen in a perfect world. Let's see what kind of world we live in.
Final Thought:
1. I am sick and tired of seeing the NCAA play-in game. First of all, one of the teams always come from the MEAC which a conference of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (I will try not to pull a race card out of my pocket and deal with facts). Second, if a team won their conference championship, than they should not have to play for the right to be in the tournament. They earned that right by winning their conference championship. See where I am going with this? I think this practice of a play-in game does smaller Division I colleges and universities a disservice to treat them like door men at the Big Dance. I am begging the NCAA to look into this practice and make it more equitable for all conference champions.
2. The Houston Rockets 22 winning streak is over. It was impressive, but if you don't get past the first round of the playoffs, WHO CARES!!!!
3. My NCAA Men's Final four: UCLA, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, North Carolina. UCLA and North Carolina in the finals, UCLA wins.
4. Women's Final Four: Tennessee, Rutgers, Stanford, North Carolina. My gut say a Tennesseea, Rutgers final again, but I think this might be the year for Stanford to get back to the finals and win.
