Earthquakes sign midfielder Shea Salinas

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced on Monday the 17th that they have signed their 2nd round MLS 2008 SuperDraft pick. The team will be acquiring Shea Salinas immediately. It is planned that he will occupy a spot on the senior roster for the quakes.
Salinas comes from Lubbock, TX. He attended Furman University and played 77 games during his college career where he scored 14 goals and had 21 assists. In 2007, he was named to the NSCAA All-American Third team and the NSCAA All-South Region First team. He also was named to the All-south Region third team in 2006.
She also shortly played for the Dallas Texans and Solar soccer club. He also played for the Carolina Dynamo. He was named team mvp and selected for the USL PDL All Conference.
Salinas’ first games with the quakes will be at the Carolina Challenge Cup in March.
