For the second time in less than two weeks, the San Jose Stealth had their lunch handed to them by the Colorado Mammoth, the last shellacking coming on a 14-8 Mammoth victory in front of 16,249 fans at Denver’s Pepsi Center.

Jay Jalbert led Colorado with four goals and two assists, while Dan Stroup (three goals and an assist) and Brian Langtry (two goals) also chipped in handsomely in the victory. Gavin Prout (four assists) and Gary Gait (three assists) led the team in assists.

With the victory, the Mammoth are in first place in the Western Division with a cool 5-3 record, whereas the Stealth currently have a not-too-cool 3-5 record that has them in fourth place and a couple of games back of Colorado.

Cam Sedgwick led the Stealth attack with three goals and an assist, while sensational rookie Ryan Boyle pitched in three goals an assist. Goalie Rob Blasdell racked up 29 saves for San Jose, but he was widely outdone by Gee Nash, Colorado’s all-world goalie. He stopped 48 shots and gave the Mammoth more than they needed to beat the less-than-stellar Stealth.

The Stealth will now take a week off before heading to Arizona to play the last-place Sting on March 11.
