SAN JOSE - San Jose Stealth head coach Johnny Mouradian is trying to evaluate the performance of his players coming off a rough one-goal road loss in Philadelphia played on Feb. 5, which resulted in a 9-8 defeat.

The Stealth had a bye last weekend and return home to action to host the Colorado Mammoth. San Jose hosted Colorado in their previous home game Jan. 29 at HP Pavilion.

Mourdain said rest for San Jose is important and the bye came in handy, "A week off is good," Mouradain said. "You know, it's funny because sometimes a week off is good and a week off you lose some momentum."

The Stealth have been playing around .500 ball and they certainly would like to take advantage of their home building, in which they've been .500 there as well. "We really haven't had a whole lot of momentum. We're 3-3 and I think it's probably more a positive for us at this point," Mouradian said.

One other point Mouradain makes is that when you're on the road, you have to be on your A-game, which the Stealth were not in Philadelphia. The Wings started with a record three games under .500.

Mouradain said the experience playing against the Wings was good, educational for the club, but a win on the trip would have been sweeter.

So the Stealth host tonight against the Colorado Mammoth for the club's sixth game of the season and fourth at HP Pavilion. The Stealth have announced a time change for their game originally scheduled on Apr. 16 against the Buffalo Bandits. It has been moved to a day earlier, Apr. 15 at 8:00 p.m. Make sure to have your tickets bought and ready for this one and your taxes filed on the same day.

The Stealth's next ball game after tonight's thrill will be their only Thursday night game of the season, Feb. 24 in the Pepsi Center against the Mammoth. Next home game at HP Pavilion starts at 7:30 p.m. against the Arizona Sting Mar. 12. Plenty of good seats available.

Ralph Gora covers the Stealth with Jeremy Harness, Gary Araki and Michael Duca. Catch one and all on 1430 KVVN San Jose and 1110 KLIB Sacramento.
