Sportstalk: Too bad they don't label the games between Cal and Stanford the Big Game too in basketball because it was huge last Saturday night at Haas Pavilion in a real come backer for Cal they stormed the floor in the second half coming back from a 22 point deficit to beat Staford 82-75 how impressive is that?
It's a very impressive win for the Bears because they haven't been able beat Stanford in a game of Horse for the past few year. It shows that Cal is beginning to come into their own as a team, and Mike Montgomery should never stop coaching college basketball ever again.
Sportstalk: For Stanford head coach Johnny Dawkins it was a head scratcher that the Cal Bears could come back like that and it was another tough loss in a collection of loses that dropped Stanford to 15-8 (4-8) and yes for most people in red visiting Haas Pavilion it was a head scratcher for them too.
It wasn't a head scratcher for Johnny Dawkins. He knows his team, and what they can and cannot do. Stanford might make the tournament, but I doubt it very seriously. They are an NIT team at best. The Pac-10 is just too loaded this year.
Sportstalk: The Cardnial's Lawrence Hill simply explained that the Cardinal just weren't covering Cal like they were in the first half and that allowed them to come back strong in that second half.
You lost the game, stop giving excuses and play better basketball. Lawrence Hill just needs to learn how to take the "L" and be better the next time.
Final Thoughts:
1. Last week Oakland mourned the loss of Sifu Tommy Gilbert. World Champion in Kajukimpo. Sifu Gilbert spent his life serving his community as a decorated Oakland Police Officer, Martial Arts Instructor, father, grandfather, and Minister. He touched the lives of hundreds of Men, women, girls, and boys.
Sifu Gilbert started the BITW (Best In The West) Martial Arts School in his backyard. This martial arts school is ranked 14th internationally and has produced many martial arts World Champions. He would be to humble to list all of the wonderful things he did in his lifetime; good for you I am hear to tell you.
2. I am already tired of hearing about A-Rod doing steroids, and people hollering about taking names out of the record books. This is why I am not really a fan of baseball; it 's too hung up on the numbers. Most homeruns, ERA, on base percentage. This why the game is dying out because everyone is chasing numbers instead of trying to be the best athlete.
Also if you are looking for someone to blame, then blame Major League Baseball themselves. You've been turning your head to the ugly side of the game for decades. You turned your head to racism in the early days of baseball, anphetamine and cocaine abuse in the 70's and 80's, and steroids. That's why you can't do anything to Rodriguiez, and you just leave Bonds and Clements alone. But you guys are looking for a scapegoat. So you leak the names of the players on the Mitchell Report. Why don't you just list all the players names so they just be out there instead of names falling out like a game of Jenga.
It's the players fault. The players are like children in the sense that they willl only do what they stongly think they can get away with. MLB as long as Bonds, McGwire and Sosa were knocking the ball out of the park, and Clements was the 40 year old pitching wonder and butts were in the seat at the stadiums you could careless about how it happened. MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL . . . YOUR CHICKENS HAVE OFFICALLY COME HOME TO ROOST!
