SAN FRANCISCO--Kathy Hoskins who is the sister of home run king Barry Bonds' ex-business manager Steve Hoskins has told federal prosecutors that she worked for Bonds' and brother Steve and saw Bonds being injected in the Giants clubhouse at Pac Bell Park by personal trainer Greg Anderson before Bonds later fired Steve Hoskins as his business manager for stealing money from Bonds on memorabilia sales and called federal authorities on Hoskins who later made a deal with federal prosecutors to testify against Bonds in exchange for dropping the theft and forgery memorabilia charges that Bonds charged Steve with.
According to sources Kathy was assisting her brother Steve in buying "things" that Bonds needed it was not clear if Kathy bought steroids for Bonds but since Anderson was always around Bonds its pretty clear that Kathy did not. Kathy did errands for Bonds in picking up his shopping needs that was not supplied in the Giants clubhouse.
Former team mate and ex-Giant catcher Bobby Estalella has told federal prosecutors that Bonds had told him that he was using steroids and that Anderson turned Estalella onto steroids. Estalella was chiseled and was called by some critics Bobby Chestalella for his stature and others often wondered how he got built like that during the season.
Estalella has since confessed to using steroids and said that Anderson gave them to him and Bonds in a clubhouse conversation with Estalella told him he was using them too. Estallella is the first ex-teammate to admit that he will testify against Bonds.
Other ex-teammates who are expected to come to the perjury trial which starts March 2 at the U.S.District Court House at the San Francisco Federal Building are ex-Giants Armando Rios, Benito Santiago, A.J. Pierznyski and ex-A's players Randy Valarde, F.P.Santangelo, Jeremy Giambi, and current Athletic Jason Giambi.
The prosecution is planning on calling Bonds ex-girlfriend Kimberly Bell who can itemize all the changes Bonds went through while he was using steroids. Bell says that Bonds told her he was using steroids. Bonds has claimed he never knowingly used steroids and to this day since his Grand Jury hearing in December 2003 and has maintained his innocence that he never knowingly used steroids.
Amongst some of the changes that Bell saw in Bonds, shrunken testicles, hair loss, and back acne. Mark McGwire was noted by people he played baseball with as having bad back acne a number of reporters had seen McGwire with back acne. Bonds lawyers have asked U.S. District Judge Susan Illston to bar Bell's testimony as hearsay evidence.
Former football stars from the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers are expected to be called by the prosecution Jerry Rice, Bill Romanowski, and Dana Stubblefield. Stubblefield is doing house arrest time for lying to prosecutors about not using steroids in a perjury case.
Steve Hoskins recorded Anderson telling him where he injects Bonds and how it balls up in one area and it needs to be drained after a while and that "it's gnarly" according to the tape recording provided by Steve. A UCLA lab in 2004 found in a Bonds urine sample that the All-time home run king indeed used THG in a test that was positive.
Three samples of urine from the BALCO raid in 2003 that were labeled positive will be thrown out by Judge Illston because the three specimens can not be verified by who took the samples to be tested and it was said that it was Anderson. Anderson has made it clear he will not testify. Illston said that he will go back to jail for contempt of court if he does not testify. Anderson spent close to a year in jail for contempt of court the last time the government asked him to testify against Babo.
