HONOLULU--Former New England Patriots videographer Matt Walsh was found on the links at the Maui Kaanapali Golf resort. Walsh who smiled for the cameras was not commenting about the enviable chance of being questioned by Congress lead by Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa) regarding spy gate.
One of the questions that Specter wants to ask Walsh is what he actually video taped while filming the New York Jets defense on September 9th previous to opening day. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell who had ordered some six video tapes destroyed showing the Patriots video taping the Jets defense during a walk through previous to opening day.
The Pats are under suspicion of filming the St. Louis Rams one week before Super Bowl XXXVI and Specter feels that those notes and evidence was also ordered destroyed under Goodell's orders. Walsh asked in Maui about spy gate would only say to the media present "I can't answer that. I can't really comment on anything. I'm really sorry but I can't".
Goodell was asked during Pro Bowl practice on Saturday if Patriots head coach Bill Belichick filmed the Super Bowl XXXVI walk through Goodell said that was something that was not confirmed and that Goodell was open to any new evidence
"We were aware of this before. We pursued it and weren't able to get any information that was credible,” said Goodell. “We were aware of some of the rumors and we pursued some of them and we continue that. From day 1, I said if we feel there is new information that's inconsistent with what we've been told (by the Pats), I reserve the right to re-open it.”
Such statements like that have the ire of Specter who thinks that Goodell might be covering up all the information by destroying the six video tapes and notes regarding spy gate and that the public was duped into believing that the Patriots had been playing a clean untainted game.
Specter now wants to talk with Walsh about what he video taped and wants the Pats to come clean and if there is any more cover ups under oath by Goodell or anyone else connected with spy gate who maybe called by Congress they could be charged with perjury or contempt of court.
