SACRAMENTO - At the rate the Sacramento Kings are
going, they definitely should be a playoff-bound
basketball club.
The Kings beat the Timberwolves in Minnesota when they
were out with two or three of their players and you
wonder how long this is going to go before it catches
up with them. They did lose to Seattle by a couple of
points and San Antonio has beaten them twice.
The Phoenix Suns have done very well in the division
and went into a real slump when they lost Steve Nash.
After Nash returned, the Kings were able to trim the
deficit from eight games to its current five. The
Kings host the Suns tonight in a critical game.
In the rest of the Pacific, the Lakers have not done
well and head coach Rudy Tomjanovich quit for health
reasons. Los Angeles is an average team now.
Coaches corner: Rick Adelman has done a good job but
Phil Jackson did a better job. If you had levels of
coaches, you'd have coaches like Jackson on top, then
your next tier would be Adelman.
Adleman has done well and he's happy because the Kings
re-did his contract. When the season started, he was a
lame duck coach, but the Kings have renewed his
contract.
Join Ken Gimblin and Joe Cronin for Sportstalk as they
co-host on KVVN 1430 San Jose and KLIB 1110 Sacramento
both cover the Sacramento Kings and the NBA.
