HONOLULU--Former 49er quarterback Jeff Garcia was tuning up for the NFC and preparing to face the AFC Pro Bowl squad on Friday. Garcia, who quarterbacks for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was asked about the Pro Bowl moving to another city after the 2009 season.

"It would be difficult to fathom it ever happening. I don't know if that would ever take place,." said Garcia. Garcia heard about the commissioner's proposal to move to another city and was surprised upon hearing about the move.

Garcia who has been in three previous Pro Bowls will always associate the Pro Bowl with Hawaii "I think that would take away from the experience of the players and the families out here. This is something special to us. Hopefully, the commissioner will really think about that before he makes any drastic change," said Garcia.

The NFL Players Association has stepped in the past and has let the league know that the players prefer to keep the game in Honolulu and in order to keep players interested in coming to the Pro Bowl the game should remain in Hawaii.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has said that 17 players who were selected didn't come and he said that looks like a lack of interest right there. But the number would be double if he moved the game around.

Previously to settling in Hawaii the game was not even on anyone's radar and when it moved to Hawaii in 1980 it has been here since. Goodell has even thought of scheduling the game before the Super Bowl, "Before the Super Bowl? That doesn't even make any sense," said the Titans defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth, who is at the Pro Bowl for the first time.

49ers re-sign quarterback Hill: The San Francisco 49ers have re-signed quarterback Shaun Hill who looked good in exhibition in August last season but didn't see any action until December.

Hill came in for injured second stringer Trent Dilfer and came up with two wins against Tampa Bay and Cincinnati. Starter Alex Smith came up injured earlier with arm and shoulder problems and was shelved. Hill came up injured after his two wins and sat out the last game in Cleveland.

Hill chalked up 501yards passing with five touchdowns, and one interception throwing 53 completions in 79 attempts.

If Hill performs just like last year he could have a shot at starting quarterback figuring how Smith's game turns out. Head Coach Mike Nolan says it's all about the competition and there is nothing like having two good quarterbacks in camp.
