Sportstalk: The Georgetown Hoyas made it back to the number one question for your column for two straight weeks. The #7 Hoyas defeated #2 Villanova 103-90 with yes President Barack Obama back in the front row again who with many others trudged through two feet of snow to get to the Verizon Center.

Austin Freeman had 25 points and Jason Clark had 24 points and forced 16 turnovers and snapped Villanova's 11 game win streak. It looks like the Hoyas had both the offense provided by Freeman and Clark and the defense with the forced turnovers working for them to handle Villanova?

The Big East is playing great ball Syracuse, Pitt, and West Virginia are not slouches. President Obama is a basketball fan watching a game, so enough with making like he is inspiring the Georgetown team to win. A possible NBA contract is what is inspiring the Hoyas. The better they play the better draft position some of them will have. They Hoyas are playing for a good seed in the NCAA Tournament. Everything else is just for B-Roll on ESPN.

Sportstalk: The New Mexico Lobos 21-3 (7-2) 1st place, are the hottest team in the Mountain West and have got very little national publicity attention but none the less have been blessed with great hitters, Darrington Hobson, Roman Martinez, Dairese Gray, and Phillip McDonald. Would you say they are the keys to the Lobos successful season or are there other reasons as well?

No the entire team is the key. You didn't mention Will Brown, A.J. Hardeman or Jamal Fenton who are coming off the bench and giving great play. Steve Alford has the defending Mountain West Conference Champions believing that they can win it all. They have taken on all challengers and actually have a chance to get out of the first round of the tournament. Let's wait until the MWC Tournament and see. You can't count out UNLV or BYU.

Sportstalk: Thursday the Stanford Cardinal 20-1 (10-0) continued to racked it up with a huge victory over the UCLA Bruins in L.A. 74-53. Each night the Cardinal go out and make it an interesting story and this game was no different with their 11th straight win. The Cardinal were coming off a victory against Arizona which was also on the road. Jayne Appel lit up the scoreboard again with 23 points and 13 rebounds. She was also ejected for elbowing Bruins star Jasmine Dixon. Appel and Dixon later said the elbow was not intentional but the officials saw it differently but didn't recommend a suspension for Appel.

None the less the Cardinal are one of the hottest teams in the NCAA. Just looking at the win against the Bruins what are your thoughts about the Cardinal in that game?

They are #2 in the Nation what other thoughts should I have?

Final Thoughts:

1. It's Super Bowl Sunday and I just want the game to be played. I'm sick of all the talking heads pontificating about what they think about the teams, the game and the players. TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!!!!

2. WHAT THE HECK HAS HAPPENED TO BASKETBALL ON TOBACCO ROAD? North Carolina, Duke, North Carolina State Wake Forrest where are they at? College basketball is not the same without these teams being in the thick of the national college basketball landscape. It is a sad day indeed.

3. Congratulations to the NFL Hall of Fame Class of 2010: Jerry Rice, Emmett Smith, John Randal, Russ Grim, Dick LeBeau, Floyd Little and Ricky Jackson.
