The Scary one arrived in Ft.Lauderdale intent on not liking the Pro Bowl anywhere else but Hawaii.

Just like 007 he drove his car fast, talked to many ladies and Rambo like tore the sleeves off his shirt. He was on the case to investigate the situation !

Unfortunately, Roger Goodell and his NFL henchmen succeeded in putting on a superior Pro Bowl. It was a tightly organized affair from start to finish.

Scarybarry was sure the expected 70,000 people would not show in the bad weather but he was wrong. The local fans braved the light rain and lived it up.

The big fan turnout must have made the Pro Bowl sponsors happy. It didn't hurt that Sun Life stadium is a palace compared to Aloha stadium in Hawaii.

Like a shot across the bow of a ship this Florida version of the Pro Bowl should indicate to Hawaii that concrete action is needed on a new stadium or all will be lost. Despite tough economic times some expenditure pays off in the long run.

The city of Miami is considering asking local taxpayers for 250 million dollars to refurbish Sun Life stadium. Some say that without this the Super Bowl will not return to Florida.

In fact many NFL franchises are in need of new stadiums. San Francisco and Oakland just to name a few. Taxpayers feeling the pain of the bad economy just aren't supporting any big spending.

Given the economic situation it seems likely that nothing on the new stadium front will happen soon anywhere. This unfortunate for Hawaii because so many cities have a better overall business climate.

By the way ! The AFC prevailed over the NFC 41-34 and the NFL made their point. So no matter how many times Scarbarry tears off his shirt sleeves and acts like 007 nothing will change the reality that right now business wise it made sense to hold the Pro Bowl outside of Hawaii !
