SAN FRANCISCO--The names read like a an old timers game review from nostalgic days gone by as the RSVP list for the Barry Bonds perjury trial includes old retired team mates who will attend to testify against their old mate known famously and simply as "Babo".

Those former MLB players who are expected to testify, the Oakland A's Jason Giambi, brother and former A's team mate Jeremy Giambi, former Yankee and now Tiger Gary Sheffield, former Giants AJ Pierznyski, Armando Rios, Marvin Bernard, Benito Santiago, the recently decorated invitee and a key prosecution witness Bobby Estella who had his share of ink this past week and has been noted to testify that he either saw Bonds use or he heard of Bonds use.

Possibilities at trial of former ball players, Curt Schilling a former Phillie and Diamondback who pitched against Bonds and has been an advocate against steroids on his radio talk show when he pitched in Boston, he might be expected to share what he knows about the former left fielder in terms of his size and growth over the years facing him, former Athletic Miguel Tejada who received HGH and steroids in 2003 from former A's team mate Adam Piatt who testified for the Mitchell Report, Mark McGwire whose brother's book "the McGwire Family secret the truth about steroids, the slugger and ultimate redemption" by Jay McGwire, Mark will be called if any information is forthcoming that is notable regarding his relationship to BALCO regardless of Jay's time line being off saying he injected his brother and introduced steroids to him in 1995 when Jose Canseco wrote in his book "Wild times rampant roids, smash hits and how baseball got big" that he introduced McGwire to steroids when they both played together on the A's in 1988.

Jay could also be called to the witness stand and asked where he got the steroids to inject his brother supposing he got them from the BALCO labs. On the McGwire brothers there is so much to ask, so much to know, we know for sure one brother is not talking and that the other brother will obviously be talking. Mark who is noted for not talking about the past. Federal prosecutors despite Jay McGwire not finding any publisher for his book will want to ask Jay a bevy of questions about BALCO and his obtaining steroids and what type of steroids is strongly possible. One question sure to be asked is "why come out against your brother now?" Our close source tells us that Jay owned two weight lifting studios in the Los Angeles area that were financed by Mark. Mark and Jay had a business falling out and Mark stopped payments on the studios, hence the start of what Jay knew about Mark's steroids usage in working on the book "out of love for his brother".

Up until the announcement of pushing his book the McGwires were not in the Bonds/perjury trial picture until now. Jose Canseco could be called also about his relationship with BALCO and if he had any knowledge of steroid distribution from the BALCO labs and if he knew Bonds trainer Greg Anderson and if he had any business dealings with the beleaguered Anderson who is one of the central figures in the perjury case.

Also non-MLB players that you could see at trial testifying, former Giants General Managing Partner Peter Magowan, Giant General Manager Brian Sabean, former Giant head trainer and current head trainer of the Los Angeles Dodgers Stan Conte, former runner, coaches, Olympic figures, bike rider, Marion Jones, Tim Montgomery, Trevor Graham,Tammy Thomas, former Raider and admitted user Bill Romanowski, its possibly that Senator George Mitchell could testify regarding his report to MLB and MLB Commissioner Bud Selig, and also former Niner and Raider Dana Stubblefield whose been under house arrest for perjury.

There is little chance of seeing former Yankee pitcher Roger Clemens and his former trainer Brian McNamee, Mets former bat boy and admitted steroid distributor Kirk Rodamski, whose steroid business dealings have been on the east coast. Also Rafael Palmerio and Sammy Sosa who testified at the Congressional hearings with McGwire, Canseco and Schilling could but very unlikely be called.

Joe Cronin and Ken Gimblin are covering the Bonds/steroids perjury trial which begins on March 2nd for Sportstalk
