SACRAMENTO--In a moment we'll have coverage on the Saints and Colts but first don't look for Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Michael Phelps or Kobe Bryant to get any endorsement deals in the near future. Some of these athletes have enough without endorsements but there are no questions that endorsements help.

We have a rather stupid society where as it's okay to go out and get plastered but if you go out and get stoned like Phelps did that's not okay and that's the mistake he made and he's done with endorsements as far as corporate sponsors are concerned.

Tim Lincecum did the same thing but he could turn it around considering that the judge in his case reluctantly excused him on just misdemeanor use. A lot of younger people do it and eventually when the old people die off it's going to be legalized. You might remember in the 1920s they tried to ban booze and it didn't work.

The same thing applies to marijuana, is it the best for you? No, but is booze the best for you? No, so if they banned that in the 20s and it didn't work then we're looking at Marijuana the same way.

Did they legalize some of the other illegal drugs? No, but not to legalize marijuana is totally stupid and it's the old people who are basically holding it back. In the case of Sammy Sosa he's a little different, he's liked by the media as a person, he's a much nicer person than Bonds or McGwire.

The problem with Sosa is he needed to admit it and he denied using steroids and that's part of the problem. "No I'm not admitting it" and obviously Sosa's record is tainted too.

Miguel Tejeda looks like he's been forgiven and he's back with the Orioles for this season after signing a deal with the O's this past week. There is no question that steroids aided him like it did the other players and Tejada was a nice person to the media.

The big question that I would have is what will Tejada do for Baltimore? Will he be able to stick with the club or will it be over for him?

Ken and Joe Show going with the Colts: We're not a bit surprised that these two teams in the Super Bowl. There is no surprise about Indianapolis and they were way too much for New York and that proved to be the case. On New Orleans, the Vikings could have easily have won the game.

With the Saints playing at home in New Orleans last Sunday it made the difference. Your usually the favorite when you do play on your home field. The Vikes could have easily have won it. It's going to be a great Super Bowl matchup.

The Ken and Joe Show is going to give the odds to Indianapolis, it's all about Peyton Manning and the team has the experience to carry it through.

Focusing on the quarterback matchups, both Drew Brees from New Orleans and Peyton Manning from Indianapolis both had great games coming off the championship last Sunday.

The thing about Manning he's proven and without Manning the Colts don't go to the Super Bowl plus the number of times they have. Drew Brees for the Saints reminds us of when Marty Schottenheimer was head coach at the Chargers and he was a grumpy old guy but the players liked him and we enjoyed interviewing him.

Schottenheimer and the Chargers basically separated because the Chargers wouldn't resign Brees. That was a major factor. Schottenheimer had a strong disagreement with the Chargers team president Dean Spanos on not signing Brees and the question we ask now, would the Chargers have been in the playoffs or in the Super Bowl if they had kept Brees and not let him go to New Orleans?

This is a question that was always asked and Shottenheimer really had a good argument and looking back the Chargers would have progressed a lot further in the playoffs if they had had him so he's a wonderful quarterback and both Brees and Manning are great and it should be a good game.

It's going to be an exciting game and we're going with Indianapolis because they are just a better team and their bringing in experience to Miami. All the way around the Colts are a better team and the Saints obviously were one of the better teams in the NFL. You have to put the Vikes right there because that game was extremely close. The Ken and Joe Show is going to put our money on Indianapolis.

Kings seven game skid going into Golden State Tuesday: It's sad and the Kings are a young team but they are in a huge slump right now they are 1-11 for the month of January and you hate to see them do this over a period of time. The Kings are not quite that team they were like in December when they showed flashes of snapping out of it beating teams like Minnesota, Washington, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Denver.

January has been an entirely different story, it's been tough and head coach Paul Westphal is trying to bring them back so they can play like they did before as a team, then they would continue to improve. Right now they had a disastrous road trip, they're not playing defense, they're not moving the ball that well offensively.

The Kings need to come together and right now. Now were questioning what kind of a season they're going to have, is it going to be a season that could lead to improvements next season? Right now we're really questioning that.

It's not only injuries but the Kings are not playing well as a team and no telling what will happen on Tuesday night at Golden State. The Kings need to start with the owner and work their way down. Right now we don't see the Kings trying to make that happen. It's just plain bad basketball and the Kings just don't have a defense.
