1. In a game that went two over times the Cal Bears lost a heartbreaker in which in the final two minutes of the second OT the Sun Devils who either trailed or were tied with Cal within two to four points, but the Sun Devils pulled away with a healthy lead as Cal had a meltdown in the final minute of the OT. Michelle what is your impression of the Sun Devils they can just put a game away and they did so Thursday against the Bears?

The problem is that Basketball Bears suffer from the same affliction as the Football Bears, they can't finish and win a game that they are winning. Jeff Tedford will fix the problems that hurt the Bears this year; I am not so sure about Ben Braun.

2. The Stanford Cardinal were in a tight game with Arizona this Pac 10 looks like there will be no team giving in. You would agree that Stanford is not a team to fold up and will take it to their opponents every night?

Stanford is playing with a lot of heart, but let's let them play out the regular season before we talk about who doesn’t fold. There is still a lot of basketball left in this season, and anything can happen.

3. Finally the #6 Tennessee Vols won their 10th straight ball game over #16 Vandy. Tennessee looks like a school to be reckon with and maybe in March too?

Bruce Pearl have the Vols playing some good basketball, but let us not for get that the Vols are in the SEC; and just like football no one team has the conference on lock. Kentucky is not playing well, and South Carolina is suspect. Mississippi State is playing like they are trying to make a run at the conference title and ticket to the Big Dance. I love it when there is no clear and dominant team. Just like this year in college football; it made the journey really fun to watch.

Final Thoughts:

1. Cal Women's Basketball is playing really well. They are ranked 9th in the AP Coaches poll. Let the women of Cal show'em how it's done.

2. Marion Jones has to serve 6 months for not telling the truth to federal investigators. Some people think that her sentence was too harsh because she has a new born son at home. Sorry, there are thousands of women in jail with new born children that they don't get to see. They are in real jail, not some cushy federal joint. Shut up, do your time, and realize that you still have a long life ahead of you. Keep your faith Marion, and you will land solidly back on you feet.

3. O.J. Simpson . . . who said Jessica Simpson is the dumb one.

4. I challenge everyone to cancel any subscriptions to Golfweek Magazine. Having a noose on the cover was so utterly offensive it just upsets me to even think about it. A message to the sponsors and advertisers of Golfweek . . . African Americans are playing golf more than ever before and spending hundreds of millions of dollars on apparel, equipment and lessons. Don't take the African American dollar for sports granted. But what is more upsetting is PTI's Tony Kornheiser saying that he agreed with the cover and thought it was provocative. Let me first say that I am a longtime Kornheiser fan and I only look at this as a difference in philosophy. But, had that been a picture of a Jewish golfer being pushed into a gas chamber would, he has felt the same. Black America does not fear the noose, but we are not going to sit idlely by and allow you be ignorant at our expense.

5. Finally, Tiger Woods WHERE IS YOUR SPINE!!!!! I understand why you felt the remark of the commentator on the Golf Channel was a non-issue, because I agree with you. But, to not have anything to say about a major golf magazine puts a noose on the cover of their magazine in a story that has a direct line to you, and you don't say anything . . . shame on you. I am not asking you to be a Black man, because you have made it clear that you are Cablinasin. I am asking you to be offended as the son of a Black man who had to live through times when a noose around the neck of a Black man was very much a reality.
