The acceptance for Cardinals batting coach Mark McGwire for getting to the Hall of Fame might be slow and it's going to take a long, long time and knowing what we know about 15 years for the maximum Hall of Fame induction wait, being the cut off for being on the ballot its going to go to the maximum and I can't see it going any further than that. There is a real risk that McGwire isn't going to get in period.

Jose Canseco said this week that McGwire and LaRussa are lying and that he didn't do anything different than McGwire did and why is he being considered for a job and a Hall vote when they both did the same thing? Barry Bonds, we have to wait until 2012 before Bonds is considered on the ballot.

Golf not the same without Tiger: The Golf Tour in Hawaii is not quite the same without Tiger Woods and basically everybody is screaming for Eldrick to please come back and when that happens you know the PGA tour is in dire straits. The galleries have a long memory they'll find a way to break the dredge up in what has transpired in Tiger's past.

All the crying and hissy fitting that he throws over bad shots or bad behaving fans will have no place anymore because their urge will be exposed more since Eldrick is a hypocrite simple.

President Obama says Tiger can rebound: People Magazine asked President Obama if he thinks Tiger Woods can bounce back from his personal transgressions and the President believed that he could.

"I don't want to comment about his personal relationship with his wife, but I'm a strong believer that anybody can look within themselves, find their flaws and fix them. I'm sure he feels terrible about what happened, and I suspect that he will try and put his life back together again."

It's going to take a long time for the PGA to be exciting again. Eldrick wants to play at Pebble Beach which comes up in February that's when the U.S. Open is going to be played and you can speculate if he would want to come back then.

You have to figure that Tiger is going to be gone for quite awhile, if not before the Masters, definitely before the U.S. Open in June so it's going to be awhile.

No one has seen Tiger Woods since he had the famous car accident outside his home the Friday after Thanksgiving Day.

Pete Carroll getting sized for Seahawk sweats: You know with the ongoing investigation at USC it is one of the reasons why getting out of SC is about the smartest move and Carroll who got out, got out on time will do well.

The Seattle situation is going to use a good sprucing up and the franchise needs a lot of work. The defense was one of the big issues, Carroll he can embrace the challenge. He's going to be just fine up there. He may not set the world on fire but he'll be a solid coach.

Cal Hoops: Having worked around some of my colleagues in my office who have graduated at the Wahzoo (Washington State University) who the Bears played on Wednesday night in Pullman. You just have to be on the lookout but it's still too early to talk about the tournament births and all that although you get on certain larger networks and that's all they talk about, speculation.

Cal should be there in the end, challenging in the end in the high top four at season's end in the Pac Ten. Knowing now that Washington State will finally be right there at least they won't suffer like they did with football let's put it that way.

The Cougars have an advantage playing at home as it's a long drive to the campus from Spokane Airport that commute will wear out any visiting team coming to play them. It's out there a little bit it's out there like where I live in Utah. Knowing that Washington State and it's that kind of a home court advantage for them and it helps.

It may not make them a better basketball team when it counts in March at least it helps them get to March and that are the important thing.

Danica is not the number one story at NASCAR: Danica Patrick is bringing a real live jolt to the place but when she starts finishing 27th, 33rd, 28th, 39th, for whatever technical problems she has or if she gets in a wreck with somebody she's not going to be able overact like she did in Indy a couple of years ago when she got tangled up with Ryan Briscoe and Milka Duno. Time will time for Patrick, its curious and we want to see where she will end up in this race.

It would be interesting to see the ticket turnout for California or Las Vegas event in the first two stops that she announced that she is going to be in, in the Nationwide Series. Only time will tell.

I would also like to pass along a Happy Birthday to the late Martin Luther King who’s Holiday it is on Monday and all my best wishes to those families who lost their loved ones this week in Port du Prince Haiti.
