Photo Suicide or accident questioned in Danelo death

University of Southern California Mario Danelo who was found 120 feet down from a rocky cliff near Point Fermin Lighthouse in Los Angeles today. Martha Garcia of the Los Angeles Police Department said that Danelo, 21, was found by a passerby at 4:30PM.

Sportstalk called Garcia’s office to confirm if Danelo’s death was an accident or suicide and the LAPD had no answer on that at this time.

Danelo, an NFL prospect in his junior year hit two field goals in the Rose Bowl on Monday and had was 15 for 16 in field goals during the season and led the Trojans in scoring with 89 points.

Danelo's father Joe was an NFL place kicker and Danelo was headed for the NFL when he finished at USC according to NFL scouts.

"He was one heck of a kicker he was a key ingredient in our success the past two years. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Trojan family go out to the Danelo family on this sad, sad day,” said USC Head Coach Pete Carroll.
