Sportstalk: Last Saturday there was a lot of sympathy for ex Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach as Longhorns fans showed their support by booing wide receiver Adam James the entire game and when he left to go into the dressing at the end of the game being followed by security. Many fans say he was a spoiled child of ESPN announcer Craig James and fans said he and the elder James had influenced the firing of Mike Leach who put Adam in an electrical closet with the lights out for dogging it in practice. Michelle what are your thoughts in the whole pomp and circumstance of what's happening at Texas Tech?

There should be no sympathy for Mike Leach, especially since the team trainer has signed an avadavat stating that Leach did in fact place James in a room that wasn't the training room or weight room where he could be monitored by athletic training staff. Did Craig James use his influence at ESPN, yes, but he also used his experience as a college and professional athlete, as well as a college football analyst. You don't have to be a member of Mensa to know that big time programs will do anything and everything they think they can get away with. Here's a heads up to all the other coaches who will soon be walking down this road. It is the age of technology. Kids will Facebook and tweet you right out of a job, so just follow the rules and treat your players like people and not cattle.

Sportstalk: The talk of the NCAA woman's basketball town is the thrashing that Texas State got by Baylor 99-18 last Saturday. Baylor's Brittney Griner dunked twice in the game and Texas State head coach Suzane Fox said, "the one in transition, we didn't just match up, if it was anybody else, it wouldn't have been a dunk, it would have been a layup." Here's the question Michelle was it a matter of Texas State being over matched with no chance to even stop Baylor's offense or was it a matter that Texas State was just bad on defense and Baylor came out flying knowing they over matched Texas State?

Texas State played a money game that they were supposed to lose. You did your job and got your money. Does it matter that Brittney Griner dunked on the other team that couldn't score twenty points. The bigger gripe should be why Griner was even playing. You knew your squad would be out matched when you took the game so stop whining and cash your check.

Sportstalk: Finally Michelle USC has imposed sanctions on the Men's basketball program stemming from money being funneled to former Trojan player O.J. Mayo who is now with the NBA Memphis Grizzlies from sports agent Rodney Guillory which amounted in the thousands during Mayo's lone season with SC 2007-08. The penalties on the Men's basketball team run from this summer to the end of the 2010-11 season. More to the point Michelle USC head coach Tim Floyd hasn't said much about this but it now seems that the University has to police itself against money being paid out to students and adjust their own penalties like in the circumstances at USC. Did Floyd think that the University really wasn't going to get caught in having a sports agent funneling money paying O.J. Mayo?

This is a lot of words to say that Tim Floyd was a horrible coach who should never get another position at any level. He leaves teams and programs much worse than when he arrives. As for O.J. Mayo he did what any kid would do when you put large amounts of money in his face. He took it.

Final Thoughts

1. Two players of the Washington Wizard allegedly pulled guns on each other in the team locker room. I've always been in favor of going back to the team’s original name the Washington Bullets. I guess Arenas and Crittendon agree with me also.

2. Hey JaMarcus Russell. At the end of the season you showed signs that you could actually be a quarterback. Since the Raiders are now in the off season why don't you try to make yourself presentable for next season. Drop fifty pounds and muscle up, hey and here's something crazy . . . LEARN THE PLAY BOOK! Become a student of the game instead of the laughing stock. It's time to make a change and quick collecting a check you haven't earned. Oh yeah, until you can prove yourself to be worthy of being the starting QB of a NFL franchise why don't you park the Bently, get a hybrid, and look up the word humility.

3. This week we said good bye to Coach Bobby Bowden head coach of the Florida State Seminoles. It is unfortunate that Coach Bowden wasn't able to go out on his own terms, but I want to thank the football team for making him a winner in his final game.
