With the score Sacramento 26, Hartford 24, Hartford Colonials place kicker Taylor Mehlhaff
attempted a 25 yard field goal. He missed, but Sacramento player Terrelle Maze ran into
him. The officials called it, gave him another chance, and he made the field goal
to beat the Mountain Lions 27-26.
The Mountain Lions began the scoring on a 9 yard pass from Daunte Culpepper to John David
Washington, Denzil Washington's son. Later in the first quarter Aaron Woods returned a
punt 60 yards for a score. It was the first punt return for a score in UFL history.
Hartford running back Lorenzo Booker scored from 2 yards out to make it 14-7. Two plays
before Booker ran the ball 47 yards to set it up.
Fabrizio Scaccia kicked a 34 yard field goal in the second quarter before Torey Harrison
scored on a one yard run, aided by a 40 yard pass interfearence call. Scaccia added a
25 yard field goal, and Mehlhaff missed a 25 yard field goal, and it's 20-14 at the half.
Hartford missed another try of 22 yards in the third. The fourth had Hartford scoring on
a Ryan Perrilloux to Markee White pass of 69 yards, replete with shoddy tackling. Then
a Josh McCown pass was intercepted by Andrew Sendejo on the 25 and returned to the one.
Corry Ross scored and the score is 26-21. Sacramento was unsuccessful trying a 2 point
conversion.
More bad tackling by Sacramento aided a Hartford drive, and Mehlhaff booted a 33 yard
field goal to make it 26-24. Hartford moved down to field to set up another attempt at
a field goa. Then Maze made the play that doomed the Mountain Lions.
Sacramento has a 2-4 record, and Hartford haa a 2-5 record. Not out of contention, but
