Photo Familiar face returns to Arco and spoils the Kings last home game

Kevin Martin made his first appearance at in Sacramento as a visiting player Monday night, finishing with 39 points as his Rockets defeated the Kings 117-107. Martin was traded to the Rockets from the Kings in February after spending his first five in a half years in a Kings uniform.

The big story of the night however was the 24 points posted by Kings rookie Tyreke Evans. Evans reached a very exclusive NBA club with his team high 24 points. No matter what Evans does in the team’s final game tomorrow in Los Angeles Evans will finish the season as just the third rookie in league history to finish the season with averages of 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assist. The other three are NBA greats LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson. A fatigued Evans said afterwards about his place in history " that's just an elite three right there, to have my name added is just a blessing."

Trevor Ariza scored 29 points for the Rockets including 5 triples and Kyle Lowry chipped in with a triple double with 14 points and 11 assists off the bench for Houston.

Carly Landry, who was traded to the Kings for Kevin Martin scored 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds for the Kings. Andres Nocioni scored 15 and Beno Udrich added 16 for the Kings who finished the season 19-23 at home.

Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson and California Governor. Arnold Schwarzenegger sat together court-side.The Kings announced before the game that they will pick up the option on Westphal’s contract.
