Richard Jefferson had 18 points and five rebounds, as the playoff-bound San Antonio Spurs took down the Sacramento Kings, 95-86. Manu Ginobili added 16 points and six assists for the Spurs, who have won four in a row and are now tied with the Thunder for sixth in the Western Conference. Oklahoma City lost in overtime to the Jazz on Tuesday. Garrett Temple chipped in a career-high 15 points, while DeJuan Blair added 13 points off the bench. Tony Parker returned to the lineup and recorded eight points off the bench in nearly 17 minutes of action. Parker missed 16 games with a broken bone in his right hand.
Tyreke Evans finished with 22 points, nine boards and six assists for the Kings, who have dropped eight in a row. Carl Landry chipped in 20 points, while Donte Greene tallied 12 points off the bench in defeat. After the game rookie Tyreke Evans talked about the loss " It was the down the stretch, same thing that happened against Portland. We weren't executing the pick-and-rolls. Ginoboli made a couple of threes and that was tough because we couldn’t do anything about it. We just have to keep going in the fourth and execute. We played good throughout the first half. We were able to stay in the game through the first half. In the end their execution was better than ours."
Sean May had 10 points off the bench for the Kings, who shot 43.9 percent from the floor.
The Kings will host the Clippers on Thursday. The Kings honored former Kings 6th man of the year Bobby Jackson, a fan favorite during his two stints with Sacramento, Jackson is now working in the Kings front office.
