The last three meetings between these two Northern Californian teams have gone into overtime, Marcus Thornton made sure this one wasn't close. The Kings jumped on the Warriors from the opening tip, leading 19-5 early in the contest and cruised to a 129 - 119 victory at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento.
Newly acquired Kings guard Marcus Thornton recorded a career high 42 points on 13-20 from the field including 4-7 from downtown to go with 4 steals.Thornton talked to reporters after the game and said "We came out and jumped right on them. Defense was the staple of this game. We were playing good defense, but at the end of games we have been having a slippage. We just tried to start it off right this time"
Thornton wasn't the only King to have a career night. Samuel Dalembert also scored a career high finishing with 27 points and a game high 16 rebounds.
The Warriors were lead by newcomer Al Thornton who finished with a team high 23 points on 7-8 from the field. Stephen Curry added 19 and Dorrel Wright chipped in with 18.
The Kings will host Cleveland Wednesday night.
