The Sacramento Kings got a nice tune-up before they will face the Lakers on Tuesday night by defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-110 in front of just 10,736 at Arco Arena. The Kings lead by as many as 34 before taking their foot off the pedal in the 4Th quarter when they were outscored 39-20.
Minnesota got a nice game from cornerstone Al Jefferson who ended up with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Kings rookie sensation Tyreke Evans was at it again on Sunday night. Evans finished one rebound shy of getting his 2ND career triple-double. Before Evans was taken out of the game he had a chance to get his 10Th rebound before fellow rookie Omri Casspi came in for the rebound. After the game Evans said " I knew coach was going to take me out. He just left me in longer than what he should have. I was attacking and trying to get the triple double." Evans finished with 29 points 11 assists and 9 rebounds.
Donte Greene had one of his best games of the season. Greene tallied 19 points to go with 8 rebounds. Five Kings players finished with double figures, Evans, Greene, Carl Landry had 13 points, Jason Thompson had 15 and Andres Nocioni finished with 12.
The Kings will host the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
