Photo Evans carries Kings to win over Clippers

Tyreke Evans wants the ball in a close game. Evans continues to make clutch plays for the Kings in the 4th quarter and Sunday night was no different. Evans made consecutive driving lay-ups in the final minutes as the Kings hung on to defeat the Clippers97-92.

The Kings lead by as many as 16 but the Clippers pulled within 91-90 but that is when Evans took over. Evans said after the game that “Coach told me to keep attacking, and when I attack I put the pressure on the defense. I was trying to attack and find the open guys.”Evans finished with a game high 22 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal in 37 minutes of action.

Carl Landry tallied 18 points for Sacramento and has now scored in double-figures in each of the last five games with the Kings. Spencer Hawes finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds. The Kings held the Clippers to a season low 92 points.

The Clippers dropped their fifth straight road game. Chris Kamen recorded a double-double with a team high 18 points and a game high 11 rebounds for his 24th double-double of the season. All five Clippers starters scored in double figures.

With the victory the Kings evened the series 1-1. The next meeting between the two teams is scheduled for March 21st at the Staples Center. The will start a three game road streak at Oklahoma City on Tuesday night.
