Wallace, Bobcats take care of Kings on the road

After leading by just a bucket at halftime the Charlotte Bobcats used a 34-13 advantage in the third quarter and lead by as many as 26 early in the 4th quarter before holding on for a 103-96 road victory. The Kings outscored the Bobcats 29-13 in the 4th quarter but we never able to get below a four point deficit. The Kings have now dropped nine of ten games and fell to score 100 or more points in the last six games. Charlotte won for the second straight night in Northern California after defeated the Golden State Warriors last night.
Kevin Martin scored a team high 31 points. Martin has now scored 64 points in the last two games after scoring just 15 points in the previous three games. Jason Thompson recorded his 16th double-double of the season with 12 points and a game high 16 rebounds.
The Bobcats, currently on a six game road trip, are 3-1, winners of their last three games on the road. Charlotte improved to 15-2 on the year when scoring over 100 points. Gerald Wallace tallied his 24th double-double of the season with a season-high 38 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Wallace scored 30 points last night at Golden State. After the game Wallace, a former King was asked about being the first player in Charlotte Bobcats history to make the All –Star game “I think it’s a great thing not just for me but for our coaches and the organization. Finally we have someone that will go down to All-Star weekend and represent our team, our organization, our fans and the city of Charlotte.”
Nazr Mohammed recorded his 2nd double-double of the season with 17 points and a season high 10 rebounds. Stephen Jackson added 13 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and a block for the Bobcats.
The Kings are off until they travel to Northwest division leading Denver on Monday night.
