Even if the San Francisco Giants will not make it to the playoffs this season, but anytime you can beat the Los Angeles Dodgers things could not be any better.

Rich Aurilia singled in hit a two-out RBI single in the top of the 11th inning, as the Giants defeated the Dodgers 1-0 at Dodger Stadium.

Aaron Rowand singled with one out off of Dodgers closer Takashi Saito, following the Rowand single, Pablo Sandoval forced Rowand at second and was replaced at first base by Saturday night’s starting pitcher Brad Hennessey to run for Sandoval.

Hennessey then stole second, and then Eugenio Velez reached on a infield single and then Aurilia hit a 2-2 pitch into left field to score Hennessey with what proved to be the only run of the game.

Sergio Matos threw three perfect innings, he won for the third time this season and extended his scoreless inning streak up to 15 innings.

Brian Wilson came on in the bottom of the 11th inning, and retired the Dodgers in order to pickup his 40th save of the season.

Wilson became just the third Giants pitcher to record 40 saves or more in a season, joining Rod Beck and Rob Nen.

Matt Cain gave up five hits in six innings, while walking four and striking out four.
