SAN FRANCISCO--Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum pitched a finesse type of a game at AT&T Park on Monday night in front of 30 plus thousand fans that saw San Francisco win 6-2. Lincecum has all his stuff working but frankly ran out of gas in the ninth inning. Lincecum looked effective in the earlier innings keeping the second place Diamond Backs off balance.

But as time wore on Linecum tired out and ended up loading the bases twice in the game and stranding 11 runners on base. It was the top of the ninth that the Giants and Lincecum had a shut out going and Giants manager wanted to give Lincecum a chance to finish his first big league game.

Lincecum just couldn't get the completion or the shutout. In that ninth Miguel Montero hit into a fielder choice scoring Adam Dunn. Conor Jackson scored on relief pitcher Alex Hinshaw's fielder error for the Diamondbacks second run.

Other than that the Giants and Lincecum finished up a ball game that got Lincecum his 16th win of the season. Lincecum is still aiming for his first complete game.

Giants scoring: The Giants got a five run rally in the bottom of the third when Pablo Sandoval hit an RBI single to center to get the Giants on the board 1-0. Bengie Molina cracked a three run homer and put the Giants up 4-0. Then with the bags juiced Dave Roberts walked forcing in a run 5-0 Giants.

Tuesday night pitchers: Doug Davis (6-8) ERA 4.58 for the D-Backs and for the Giants Barry Zito who has won three of this last four games (9-16) ERA 5.45. First pitch is at 7:15PM PDT at AT&T.
